Stella McCartney was the maid of honor, not Gwyneth Paltrow. And the bride didn't wear diamond-encrusted cowboy boots, as had been rumored.
But Madonna was dripping with diamonds _ on loan from the jeweler Harry Winston _ when she married British film director Guy Ritchie under tight security in Scotland.
Those are some of the few details that have trickled out about the Dec. 22 nuptials. The details were reported in this week's People magazine.
Madonna, 42, wore a strapless silk ivory gown, designed by Stella McCartney, daughter of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney. Paltrow, Rupert Everett, Donatella Versace and Sting were among the celebrities who witnessed the union at Skibo Castle.

Ingmar Bergman loses
taste for filmmaking
Ingmar Bergman says he is finished making films and isn't even moved by his own work anymore.
"I have left the branch of butchery and whoring," the 82-year-old director said in an interview Friday in the tabloid Expressen. "It feels as if a very distant cousin has done all that."
The director of such classics as The Seventh Seal said he will continue to stage plays. His last film was Fanny and Alexander in 1982.
