BRANCH, LEILA FLETCHER, 95, of Plant City, died Tuesday (March 13, 2001). She was a Plant City native and a lifelong resident. She was a former owner of Branch Florist and a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Plant City. She is survived by a brother, George F. Fletcher, Plant City. Hopewell Funeral Home, Plant City.

DEBEVOISE, FLORENCE LOUFERN, 89, of Newark, Ohio, died Sunday (March 11, 2001) at Newark Health Nursing & Convalescent Center in Ohio. She was born in Newark and returned there from Tampa in 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, Tampa. Survivors include a daughter, Janet Proctor, Newark; a granddaughter; and a great-grandchild. DEMOTT, ERNESTINE, 86, of Odessa, died Saturday (March 10, 2001) at University Community Hospital in Carrollwood. Born in Hinesville, Ga., she came here in 1974 from Miami. She was a retired cashier for American Bankers in Miami and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Tarpon Springs. Survivors include a son, George DeMott III, Miami; two daughters, Janet Bush, Rockledge, and Joan Valdes, Odessa; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Family Funeral Care, Tarpon Springs.

GERBEC, HENRY C., 96, of Tampa, died Tuesday (March 13, 2001). Born in Yugoslavia, he came here in 1946 from Ohio. He as a machinist and a musician. Survivors include his wife, Winifred; a daughter, Jeanne; two sons, Richard and Tom; a sister, Yolanda; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa.

HYDER, LEE M., 67, of Land O'Lakes, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at Regional Medical Center in Bayonet Point. Born in Akron, Ohio, he came to the Tampa area in 1970 from Miami. He was a retired contractor, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW and Moose Club. Survivors include his wife, Judith; a daughter, Lisa Schueller, Lutz; three sons, Henry Landress and Tony Hyder, both of Tampa, and Clifford Landress, Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Jean Kariotis, Hilton Head, S.C., and Bonnie Amy, Wesley Chapel; two brothers, Earl, Tampa, and Merle, Hilton Head, S.C.; and four grandchildren. PEREZ, RAY, 45, of Zephyrhills, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (March 13, 2001). He worked for UPS, he was a member of Teamsters Union No. 79 and was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Sherri Lynn; two daughters, Erica Rae and Brandi Lynn Perez; his mother, Margaret Perez; and two sisters, Maggie Kyle and Brenda Morgado. Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa.

PUPELLO, JEANIE "NANA," 94, of Tampa, died Monday (March 12, 2001). Born in New York City, she came here in 1947 from Bivona, Sicily. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Voskerichian; three sons, Tony, Sal and Pete; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. SANDT, VERNON D., 62, of Tampa, died Monday (March 12, 2001) at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Stroudsburg, Pa. He was a retired Air Force master sergeant medic, a member of American Legion Post No. 138 in Port Tampa, a Mason and was Lutheran. Survivors include his wife, Maria; a daughter, Margaret Stevens, Northampton, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Jackie Doore, North Hanover, N.J., and Donna Gaznon, Waldorf, Md.; a son, Vernon Jr., Tucson, Ariz.; two stepsons, Joe Young, Oxnard, Calif., and Robert Young, Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Earl W. UNDERWOOD, JASON B., 18, of Tampa, died Friday (March 9, 2001). He was a Tampa native and a lifelong resident. He graduated from King High School. Survivors include his mother, Brenda Pierce; four brothers, Richard Lee Mac, Wilcame Beauvais Jr., Arthur Lee III and Daris, all of Tampa; eight sisters, Iola Pierce, Aretha Underwood, Theresa Underwood, India Underwood, Jocelyn Underwood, Janice Underwood, Shakendra Underwood and Mickinicie Underwood, all of Tampa; maternal grandmother, Betty Pierce; maternal grandfather, Theodore Walton; and paternal grandparents, Annie and Arthur Underwood, Tampa. WAGNER, DELITE RHODES, 96, of Brandon, died Saturday (March 10, 2001) at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in Peru, Ind., she came to the Tampa area two years ago from Fort Myers. She was a homemaker and was Methodist.
