Interim Health Care's closing of its west Pasco office may leave as many 200 clients without home health services.
A health care provider that has served as many as 200 mostly homebound patients at a time in Pasco County will discontinue its care today, officials said.
Interim Health Care, 10220 U.S. 19, has had an office in west Pasco since 1979, a company spokeswoman said. It served Pasco and northern Pinellas counties.
The agency provided baths, homemakers and other personal assistance to its clients, as well as some home nursing.
All of the agency's clients were notified at least 30 days ago about the closing, said Mea Sideris, the director of health care for the office.
Despite calling more than 15 local health care providers, Interim was unable to find services for about five patients, Sideris said. All 30 of the clinic's workers have been relocated to other jobs, a spokeswoman for Interim said.
Interim is eliminating many of its company-owned offices, the spokeswoman said. Many are being franchised, but the Port Richey office is being closed. Its other area offices, including ones in Clearwater and Tampa, are not closing, Sideris said.
