WHO: Central, Citrus, Gulf, Hernando, Hudson, Land O'Lakes, Lecanto, Mitchell, Ridgewood, River Ridge, Springstead.

WHERE: Jim Valentine Athletic Complex

WHEN: Field events start at 3 p.m. today; 4x800-meter relay starts at 3:30. Running events start at 4:30.

AT STAKE: Ribbons to top eight place-winners; medals awarded to outstanding male and female athletes.

OUTLOOK: The Ridgewood and Springstead boys renew their annual rivalry. Neither team claimed to be at full-speed at the Chasco Invitational (Ridgewood finished second; Springstead fifth). The Ridgewood girls should win. If either falters, both River Ridge teams will be there to take advantage on their home turf. River Ridge has introduced some wrinkles to keep the meet fair (no schools can load up on their favorite events) and fast (no midnight finish.) Each school will be limited to three entrants in each event, minimum standards will be upheld and the fastest heats will be run first.
