County paces quest for WWII memorial

Citrus County is leading the way in fundraising for the future Florida World War II Memorial and exhibits. It is the first county to organize a committee to assist in fundraising, the Citrus County Ad Hoc Florida World War II Memorial Committee, which has received more than $1,300 in contributions. Donations can be made to Florida World War II Memorial, P.O. Box 1253, Homosassa Springs, FL 34447. The committee will next meet on March 26 at the Citrus Times office, 301 W Main St., Inverness. Correction

The Citrus County School Board has not formally approved a new fundraising policy that will outlaw door-to-door sales for elementary school students. It is expected to discuss the policy at a public hearing later this spring. A story in Friday's Citrus Times indicated the policy had been changed.
