If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the 1,000 T-shirts on display today in Crest Lake Park will tell volumes. The T-shirts, part of the Clothesline Project of Tampa Bay, will be displayed at the park, on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, east of Highland Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shirts represent domestic-abuse victims.
In Pinellas County, law enforcement officers responded to more than 10,000 domestic dispute calls in the past year and about 900 women sought refuge at The Haven, run by Religious Community Services in Clearwater and CASA (Center Against Spouse Abuse) in St. Petersburg. Recent victims of violence can come and make their own T-shirts, free of charge. For information call Dale Shade, 784-6384.
