The XFL hit a new low for prime-time programing. The national rating for the league's Week 7 broadcast on joint owner NBC was 1.6, believed to be the worst prime-time night among the big three networks in Nielsen Media Research history. It's also well below the previous low for an evening sports broadcast on NBC, ABC or CBS: Game 3 of last season's Stanley Cup Finalwhich drew a 2.3 on ABC on June 3.

Tricon Global Restaurants Inc., owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken chain, is trying to convince Vancouver Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley to move the team to Louisville, Ky., Tricon senior vice president Jonathan Blum said. The team would be called the Kentucky Colonels, the name of Louisville's former American Basketball Association team, and its arena would be called the KFC Bucket, Blum said. "Could you imagine the marketing opportunities for Kentucky Fried Chicken to have the Kentucky Colonels playing in the KFC Bucket?" Blum said.
