A man says an escort robbed him of $180 Sunday after he hired her to give him a massage.
Timothy S. Barkley, 39, of 9493 Melrose St. in Spring Hill said the robbery occurred after he answered an advertisement in the phone book that stated "Female/male models and escorts for all occasions."
The woman came to his house at about 2 a.m. and Barkley gave her the money. The woman told him she needed to put the money in her car and then drove off with the cash, a sheriff's report said.
A manager with the escort service, A First Choice Referrals, told deputies the woman left because Barkley propositioned her for sex, and it is the company's policy for escorts to leave under such circumstances to avoid prostitution charges.
He refused to give police an address for the business and said the money would not be returned, as it was considered the woman's fee for showing up at Barkley's door, the report said.
