PURSE: $4.62-million. Winner's share: $840,000.

TV: 8 a.m.-2 p.m. today-Friday, ESPN; 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday, Ch. 28.

NOTES: At 24, Tiger Woods became the youngest player to complete the career Grand Slam last year, winning by eight strokes at St. Andrews. His 19-under 269 total is the lowest score in relation to par in a major. Shigeki Maruyama became the first Japanese player to win a PGA Tour event on the mainland Sunday, beating Charles Howell III on the first hole of a playoff in the Greater Milwaukee Open. U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen won the Scottish Open, beating Denmark's Thomas Bjorn by three strokes. Royal Lytham was the site of Bobby Jones' 1926 victory. The 2002 tournament will be played at Muirfield, and the 2003 event is set for Royal St. George's.

LPGA TOUR

NOTES: Annika Sorenstam won the rain-shortened tournament for her fifth 2000 titler, a one-stroke victory over Rosie Jones. Emilee Klein won the Michelob Light Classic on Sunday, beating Sorenstam and Jill McGill by five strokes. Sorenstam, also the 1998 winner, leads the tour with five wins and $1,276,767.

PGA TOUR

WHAT: B.C. Open.

WHEN: Today-Sunday.

WHERE: Endicott, N.Y.

COURSE: En-Joie Golf Club (6,994 yards, par 72).

PURSE: $2-million. Winner's share: $360,000.

TV: 3:30-6 p.m., 9:30 p.m.-midnight today-Friday; 2:30-5 p.m., 9:30 p.m.-midnight Saturday-Sunday, Golf Channel.

NOTES: Brad Faxon defended his title last year, beating Esteban Toledo by a stroke. Faxon played last year after failing to qualify for the British Open. Faxon is skipping this year to play the British Open. The purse is the smallest on the 2001 tour.

SENIOR PGA TOUR

WHAT: SBC Senior Open.

WHEN: Friday-Sunday.

WHERE: Long Grove, Ill.

COURSE: Kemper Lakes Golf Club (6,951 yards, par 72).

PURSE: $1.4-million. Winner's share: $210,000.

TV: 4-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Ch. 10.

NOTES: Tom Kite won the second of two 2000 titles, holding off Bruce Fleisher by two strokes. Allen Doyle won the Senior Players Championship on Sunday, beating Doug Tewell on the first hole of a playoff. Bruce Lietzke is making his senior debut. The 13-time winner on the PGA Tour plans to play eight events this year. Hale Irwin won the 1995 tournament at Stonebridge Country Club for the first of his record 31 senior titles. He also won in 1998 and 1999 at Kemper Lakes.
