Fans of Stephen Covey's best-selling book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, might be interested in a program called "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families" hosted by the Forest Lakes Elementary School PTA at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Presenters from Premier, A Franklin Covey Company, will teach parents how to take the seven habits discussed in the book and apply them to day-to-day family life.
"We've had workshops on discipline at the school before," said Barbara Savelle, PTA vice president. "But this one emphasizes families and making them stronger."
One of the principles discussed in the workshop is setting aside one evening a week to turn off the television and play games as a family or go to the park, Savelle said.
"It all comes back to putting family first," she said.
The workshop is free and is open to the public, but it is for adults only. Child care will not be provided.
Forest Lakes Elementary School is at 301 Pine Ave. To ensure adequate seating, RSVPs are requested. Call (813) 891-0785.
