Man sought in robbery of ice cream parlor

Police were searching Monday for a man who robbed a Largo ice cream parlor Sunday night. The robber, who was armed with a chrome handgun, entered the Topps Mainstreet Ice Cream Parlor, 600 West Bay Drive, about 8:56 p.m. and demanded money. The robber forced the clerk to empty the cash register and hand over the cash. He then took the clerk's purse, along with the purse of a customer, police said. The robber forced the clerk and two customers to get on the ground. The man fled in a black Chevrolet Cavalier. Anyone with information about the robbery can call Largo police Detective Diane Martin at 587-6730.
