USDA Surplus Commodities will be distributed in Marion County today.
Distribution will be at the following times and locations: from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., American Legion Hall, U.S. 41 S, Dunnellon; from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Orange Lake Civic Club, Lakeview Avenue, Orange Lake; from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, 2232 N Jacksonville Road, Ocala; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Theresa Catholic Church, 11528 S.E. U.S. 301, Belleview.
Registration will be on site with written proof of all household income from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. One of the following will be accepted as income verification: award letter for VA, AFDC, SSI, SS, child support, retirement and pensions, check stub for employment, unemployment and workmans compensation, Letter of Decision for Food Stamps and Medicaid, proof of residents for public housing.
Per month income guidelines are:
$931 - one person
$1,258 - two persons
$1,913 - three persons
$2,240 - four persons
Some of the items to be distributed are canned vegetables, meats and dried products.
USDA's Temporary Emergency Food Program is available to all eligible recipients regardless of race, religion, national origin, age, sex or handicap.
