Defenseman Francis Lessard was called up from the minors to replace Luke Richardson, who is out with a broken right foot. Richardson was injured when he blocked a shot Saturday against Florida.
Lindros faces old mates
With a quiet, steady voice, Eric Lindros chose to emphasize the positive.
The center and his Rangers play the Flyers, the team that cut ties with him in a contentious divorce, for the first time tonight.
"Obviously there will be a lot of emotion," he said. "But the bottom line is that two points are at stake."
After spending nine seasons in Philadelphia, Lindros was traded to the Rangers in August for three players and a draft pick. He sat out last season, partly because of a concussion and partly because of a dispute with GM Bob Clarke.
"There were some tough times," Lindros said. "Sometimes it gets ato a point where everybody had to defend themselves. That's what happened and I don't second-guess what I did."
