REGULAR SEASON: The season began Monday and continues through Jan. 25. District tournaments begin the week of Jan. 28. Regional tournaments are Feb. 7-15. The state tournament is Feb. 21-23. Schools may play no more than 28 games in the regular season, which includes all games played in regular-season tournaments.
KEY DATES: Nov. 15 _ Durant at Bloomingdale; Nov. 20 _ Tampa Catholic at Berkeley Prep; Dec. 11 _ Durant at East Bay; Dec. 13 _ Bloomingdale vs. Tampa Catholic at Gordon Park Lake; Dec. 14 _ Bloomingdale at Gaither; Jan. 18 _ East Bay at Durant; Jan. 19 _ Clearwater Central Catholic at Tampa Catholic; Jan. 23 _ Sarasota at Tampa Catholic.
PLAYOFFS: The district tournament champion and runner-up advance to the regional playoffs. There are three rounds of regional playoffs. The winner of each regional (four teams in each class) advances to the state tournament.
CLASSIFICATIONS: Schools are divided by enrollment into four classifications ranging from the largest schools in Class 4A to the smallest in Class A.
WHAT'S NEW: Districts have once again been realigned. The state tournament was moved from Tallahassee to Ed Radice Park in north Tampa, near the Citrus Town Center.
