Strong sculptural form and simple but massive expression characterize the glass art of Duncan McClellan, whose pictured glass vessel is among works on sale in a benefit for Habitat for Humanity at Gallery Enormous, Friday through Sunday.

McClellan is one of 18 to 20 artists who will have works on sale. Others include David Greenbaum, John Tilton and co-owner Kerry Hudson. Also available are artistic gifts.

The rationale for selling art to build homes is explained by gallery co-owner Lisa Lippincott: "Art isn't much good if you don't have walls to hang it on."

Gallery Enormous, relatively new to downtown St. Petersburg's Gallery Central Arts District, is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with a free public reception 7-10 p.m. Saturday. 540 Central Ave.; (727) 551-9865.
