Tomas Kaberle scored a power-play goal with 7:47 left to lift visiting Toronto. Kaberle's first goal of the season came just 10 seconds into the advantage. After a faceoff, Alexander Mogilny made a cross-ice pass to Kaberle, who scored through a screen past Roberto Luongo.
Corey Schwab, making his second start this season, stopped 15 shots in the third period and 26 overall.
Clarke issues final shot
Philadelphia general manager Bob Clarke wants to put his feud with Eric Lindros in the past, but not before issuing more parting shots.
Clarke says the Philadelphia organization buckled under a barrage of insults from Lindros and his parents.
"We put up with it for eight years," Clarke said. "And what you know is not very good and what you don't know is way worse. There is way more of it.
"I hope it goes to bed but we'll fight back. We are not going to be pushed around by his family. I won't initiate it. Maybe after tonight everybody will get on with their lives."
CANUCKS: Forward Herbert Vasiljevs was sent to Manitoba after the 25-year-old cleared waivers. He scored three goals in 11 games despite averaging nine minutes of ice time.
THRASHERS: Pascal Rheaume was claimed off waivers from the Blackhawks. He had two points and four penalty minutes in 19 games for Chicago.
DEVILS: Defenseman Scott Niedermayer hopes to be play tonight. He has missed three games because of a bad back.
