The Home Depot on U.S. 19 was closed for several hours Wednesday morning after the Hernando County Sheriff's Office learned an employee had found white powder in a store restroom, according to a news release from the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners.
According to the release, store managers called county officials at 8:50 a.m. after an employee found the powder scattered in a stall of the men's restroom. Soon after, more powder was found in the women's restroom.
The store reopened at 1 p.m. after the restrooms were decontaminated. Test results on a sample of the powder are expected early next week.
