The state House of Representatives has passed legislation introduced by Rep. Nancy Argenziano, R-Crystal River, that would allow honorably discharged Korean War veterans who were inducted into the armed forces before they graduated from high school an opportunity to receive a standard high school diploma.

State Sen. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, was the Senate sponsor for the bill, which will take effect in July. A similar measure for World War II veterans passed last year.
