THE LOWDOWN: Going into Thursday's games, the Lightning's six-game unbeaten streak (3-0-3) was tied with the Maple Leafs (3-0-3) for the longest active streak in the league. Tampa Bay's streak is the longest since a team-record, seven-game streak (5-0-2) Feb. 28-March 13, 1996. The Canadiens are 2-0-2 in their past four games and 3-3-1 in their past seven on the road. Montreal's penalty kill was seventh in the league at 86.2 percent. Tampa Bay was ninth at 86 percent. Montreal C Yanic Perreault, the team's leading scorer, has one goal in his past seven games. RW Oleg Petrov has two goals and three assists in his past three games. Lightning F Dave Andreychuk has six goals and five assists in his past nine games. Tampa Bay is 13-25-7-2 against the East. Montreal is 21-18-8-3. The Lightning is 15-14-4-2 at home. The Canadiens are 12-16-5-2 on the road. This is the third of four meetings (1-1) this season. The Lightning trails the series 14-17-4-1 but is 7-7-3-1 at home.
