GOING LONG

Marion, Wise and Davis took the top three spots at the Ed Wells Jr. Kiwanis Invitational on Tuesday.

Marion went 24-1{ to win the event. The mark, a half-inch better than his career best, broke the previous meet record of 23-3{ set by Hillsborough's Juran Bolden in 1993. It is the third-best leap in the nation this season.

Wise was the runner-up at 23-3, 4{ inches off his season best set two weeks ago. Davis had a season-best 23-2 to take third.

Today, Marion and Davis will compete at the Disney Showcase, an invitational at Lake Buena Vista's Wide World of Sports Complex open to high school and college teams.
