RACING TONIGHT AT SUNSHINE SPEEDWAY

WHAT: Short-track competition in the Open Wheel Modified, Outlaw Late Model, Figure 8, Street Stock, Mini Stock and Hornet classes.

WHEN: Grandstands open at 5 p.m., and racing starts at 7.

WHERE: 4500 Ulmerton Road (State Road 688).

ADMISSION: Adults, $10; children 6-12, $4; children under 6, free; parking, free.

NOTES: With the season in full gear, it is time to get down and dirty. No gimmicks tonight, just pure racing. With lower than usual showings last week for some classes, expect to see many drivers itching to make up for lost ground and taking more strides to improve in the points standings. This is the fourth week of the regular season. The heat is on, and drivers know it. The Hornet division will get a version of last week's Enduro Buddy Race, with a small twist. Hornet drivers _ all 16-19 years old _ will share 20 laps with an adult amateur, changing drivers at the 10-lap mark. Also, there will be Kids Rides at 6 p.m., giving the younger fans an opportunity to take a lap or two with their favorite drivers. Lines must be formed by 5:45.
