Man arrested for spraying extinguisher at hospital

An 18-year-old man was arrested Sunday after authorities said he ripped a fire extinguisher off the wall at Oak Hill Hospital and sprayed it in the hallway, activating the fire alarm and scaring patients in the emergency room.

Kenny Austin Carlson of 13486 Tyringham St. in Masaryktown was charged with felony obstruction of a firefighter.

Authorities said Carlson was frustrated because it took the hospital a long time to give his friend medical treatment, so he sprayed the extinguisher.

Carlson was released Monday from the Hernando County Jail on his own recognizance, according to a jail spokesman.
