Question: I was recently told that Andrea Evans, who plays Rebecca on Passions, was involved in some sort of cancer project at a hospital in Los Angeles. Do you have any information on this? Incidentally, I remember Andrea as Tina Clayton on One Life to Live, and she was just as great an actor then as she is now.

Answer: Andrea Evans is active in many important causes. The cancer situation to which you allude involved a play she starred in called Candles, which shows how five women with cancer emphasize the syllable "can" in the word "cancer." It was produced about a year ago as a benefit to raise funds for the Huntington Memorial Hospital Cancer Center in the Los Angeles area.

By the way, Evans told me that wherever she goes, people tell her about seeing her as Tina Clayton (who turned out to be Tina Lord, one of several out-of-wedlock offspring of the late Victor Lord _ played by Shepperd Strudwick, among others). Evans said: "It's very flattering to be remembered for something from so many years ago. I'm truly honored."
