The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants has announced that Crystal River CPA Phillip W. Price of Price and Co., P.A., has been appointed to the "2002/2003 FSU Accounting Conference Committee" for the eighth consecutive year and the "2002/2003 Health Care Industry Committee" for the seventh consecutive year. These committees are responsible for disseminating information to the membership relating to tax and accounting issues for business and health care organizations.

The five-day convention offered the latest updates in prevention of medical errors, ocular side effects of systemic medications, trends in anti-infective therapy, HIV/AIDS update, Florida jurisprudence and 30-day continuous wear contact lenses.

The Citrus County Art League's 31st Festival of the Arts is offering business leaders an opportunity to participate in a new sponsorship program. The festival will be Nov. 16 and 17 on the campus of the Withlacoochee Technical Institute. Several sponsorship levels are available that offer promotional opportunities for businesses, the highest of which is being a named sponsor in all festival publicity. The festival attracts about 200 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors. Proceeds will go to the building fund for the new Art Center Theater in Hernando. For information on becoming a festival sponsor, call Ralph at 341-5931. Businesses and professionals are also being sought to sponsor a Purchase Award of $50 or more. Purchase Award ribbons, naming the individual or business, will be displayed in the booths at the festival. Photos of each business' location also will be displayed. Call Skip Davidson at 344-4235.
