Kids recently flocked to a Sasser family rodeo camp in Lacoochee, subduing livestock and racing around barrels. At left, Austin Barber, 8, of Lake City awaits his turn during a close goat tying contest between the boys and girls. The rope in his mouth was to be used to tie the goat. Below, Lee Miller, 17, of Arcadia bursts out of the chute after a steer. The Sassers stage two rodeo camps for kids 4 to 17 every summer, when kids can learn such skills as goat tying, breakaway roping, barrel and pole racing and how to care of the livestock.
