MARLINS 2, BRAVES 1: A.J. Burnett allowed a run in six innings as host Florida handed Greg Maddux his first loss in 16 starts and snapped Atlanta's six-game winning streak.

Maddux lost for the first time since April 30. In the 15 starts since, he went 7-0 with a 2.28 ERA.

The right-hander gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings. Burnett was just slightly better, yielding five hits and striking out six before leaving for a pinch-hitter in the sixth.

Braden Looper pitched the ninth for his second save as the Marlins won their fourth straight. He got pinch-hitter Mark DeRosa on a long fly to center with a runner on to end the game.
