High noon with swords on the library lawn

There were demonstrations of ancient combat, dancing, music, costumes and more Saturday at the Coastal Region Library in Crystal River. Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism set the tone for the day's Chivalry Lives program, for example, with a medieval fencing duel. Magnus "The Magnanimous" Colderwild (otherwise known as James Pence) skirmished with George Woulfryth (also known as William O'Keefe). The Society of Creative Anachronism is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating aspects of European history before the 17th century. Saturday's event was sponsored by the Citrus County Library System.
