Early in the morning on June 2, off-duty Pasco County sheriff's Deputy Steven Larner was looking for his girlfriend, sheriff's records state.
First, Larner called Holiday Park Apartments. He said he was Deputy Larner from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, and he needed to know where Chrissy Nault lived. He thought his girlfriend was staying with Nault.
The complex's answering service woke the manager, who told Larner where Nault lived.
Wearing his uniform, Larner went to the apartment about 6 a.m. and walked out with his girlfriend.
Five days later, Nault filed a complaint with the Sheriff's Office.
Investigators sustained complaints against Larner for failure to follow general orders and improper use of official position or identification, according to documents released Wednesday at the request of the St. Petersburg Times.
Before he could be punished, Larner resigned June 26, records show.
Larner, 26, was hired in August 2000. He was a patrol deputy in east Pasco County.
Neither Larner nor Nault could be reached for comment Wednesday. The Sheriff's Office did not release any more details about the case on Wednesday.
Court records show that Larner and his wife, Jennifer, are in the process of divorcing. Both have unsuccessfully filed for domestic violence injunctions against each other.
