Man is accused of filing false report

(ran PC edition)

Terry Dean Roehrig finally told the truth, and it got him arrested.

Roehrig originally told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that two men carjacked him at gunpoint Saturday, drove him around Tampa and Lakeland while the men dealt drugs, then stole his 1994 Pontiac Trans Am.

Tuesday, Roehrig told deputies he actually had loaned the car to another man in exchange for crack cocaine. He contacted deputies after he grew worried when the man did not return his car, reports stated.

Roehrig, 27, 36413 Cherrywood Lane in Zephyrhills, was arrested and now faces a charge of filing a false police report.

He was taken to Land O'Lakes jail and released Wednesday morning after posting $250 bail.
