Imagine driving more than 200 mph while another car, a few inches away, travels at the same speed. Now imagine the other driver has been drinking alcohol. OUT OF BOUNDS
It's bobblehead mania
With bobblehead doll promotions for Willie Stargell and Jason Kendall accounting for two of the Pirates' largest home crowds this season, they have added a Pokey Reese giveaway for Sept. 21. They have two other bobblehead giveaways scheduled for that month, Brian Giles on Sept. 6 and the Pirate Parrot mascot Sept. 22. Which brings up two questions: Pokey Reese? A guy hitting .247 with 2 homers, 32 RBIs and 6 stolen bases?
The Mariners' Ichiro Suzuki wasn't happy last year when his bobblehead doll made him look fat and sleepy. This year's version has him in his batting stance. He even met with the makers of the bobblehead to make sure they got everything right. Said Ichiro: "Much better."
QUESTION OF THE DAY
When Babe Ruth hit his 600th home run, who was second on the all-time list?
"Technically, it was not a sinking. It was a grounding and a swamping."
