Couples celebrate 60 years together

Catherine and Alfred Jacob of Clearwater celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a party given by their children in New Jersey at the Stony Hill Inn. They were married June 20, 1942, at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Brooklyn, N.Y.

They came here in 1979 from Elmhurst, N.Y., where he retired as the owner and operator of a printing company. She worked as an accounting clerk for American Airlines. He is an Army veteran of World War II. They are members of Light of Christ Catholic Church, Clearwater. They have a son, two daughters, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Audrey and Jim Hampton of Clearwater celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a surprise party given by two of their grandsons. They were married June 26, 1942, in Hartfordshire, England.

They came here in 1979 from Kent, England, where he served in the Royal Air Force during World War II and retired from the educational department of the London Borough of Barnet. She trained and worked in a London hospital, and taught disabled children in Pennsylvania before moving here. They have two children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is a member of a bowling club.

Dolly and George Fulmer of Clearwater celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a party at the Golden Corral hosted by their son and two daughters. Among the guests were his sister, the maid of honor, Mary Louise Deckard Thomas; and his brother, the best man, Carl Ellsworth Fulmer. They were high school sweethearts and married June 26, 1942, in Tampa.

At age 5, he moved to Clearwater with his family from Newberry, S.C. She came here with her family at 8 from Massillon, Ohio. They graduated in 1940 from Clearwater High School.

He is a commercial photographer and served as an aerial photographer with the Navy during World War II. In 1962 they opened Fulmer Photo Service, which is still in operation in Clearwater. They have six grandchildren and a great-grandson. They are members of First United Methodist Church of Clearwater.
