Still smokin'

Singer Desiree Parkman casts a shadow during her duet with Michelle Martin (not shown), Trouble, in the musical revue Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Songs of Leiber and Stoller, which is playing at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre weekends through Aug. 18. The original show ran nearly five years on Broadway and was nominated for eight Tony Awards and won a 1996 Grammy for "Best Musical." The Show Palace production features nine singer-dancers from New York and Orlando. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 3 p.m. Sundays. Doors open two hours before each show for buffet and cash bar. The Show Palace is at 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Tickets are $37.50 for dinner and show, $26.45 for show only.
