Hernando County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 41-year-old woman after they saw her trying to drop crack cocaine out of her pants during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning, a sheriff's report stated.
The car's driver, a 24-year-old man, also was arrested after deputies discovered his license had been suspended.
Linda Mildred Johnson faces one count of crack cocaine possession. Pete Scott was charged with driving with a suspended license.
Deputies stopped the Nissan Altima driven by Scott near Stefanik Street after it and another vehicle apparently played "cat and mouse," while driving south on U.S. 41, the report stated. The other vehicle did a U-turn and fled as Scott was pulled over.
While one deputy checked Scott's license, another deputy saw Johnson leave the car, reach into her pants and try to drop several pieces of crack cocaine, the report said.
The driver of the other vehicle, 20-year-old Derrick Dwayne Mobley, was arrested about 30 minutes later, after deputies learned his license had been suspended.
All three were taken to Hernando County Jail. They were released Wednesday.
