WHEN: 8 tonight.
WHERE: Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
OUTLOOK: Tarpon Springs bantamweight Pete Frissina is scheduled to make the first defense of his North American Boxing Organization title against Colombian Jesus Perez on the undercard of the John Ruiz-Kirk Johnson WBA heavyweight title bout. This will be Frissina's first fight since signing with Don King. The 118-pounder is 25-3-1 but 16-0-1 in his past 17. He won the NABO title in March with a split decision over Jorge Lacierva. Perez (23-3-1) also fought for a title that month, losing to IBF champ Tim Austin (who is on the undercard defending against Adan Vargas). Frissina is the WBO mandatory challenger, and a victory gets him a shot at champ Cruz Carbajal by the end of the year, Frissina's father/trainer, Jack, said.
