A Pasco County firefighter was arrested early Saturday after he battered his wife during an argument at their Port Richey home, according to sheriff's reports.
Matthew Timothy Wilson, 37, of 11632 Newell Drive, faces charges of domestic battery and criminal mischief.
According to reports, Wilson told deputies he didn't remember what had happened because he was drunk, but that he would never hit his wife.
He was taken to Land O'Lakes jail and released later Saturday on his own recognizance.
Man charged in beating at bar
A 20-year-old Georgia man was arrested Thursday in the June beating of two other men, Pasco County sheriff's deputies said.
Kenneth James Stockton of Gainesville, Ga., faces charges of battery and aggravated battery, deputies said. He also gave deputies a mailing address in Hudson.
Deputies said that on June 7 at Tropics bar in Hudson, Stockton hit David Nielsen with a beer mug then hit and kicked another man before leaving the bar.
Stockton was released Friday from county jail in Land O'Lakes after posting $500 bail.
Traffic stop results in arrest
NEW PORT RICHEY _ A 19-year-old man was stopped early Friday morning for having improper lights on his car and ended up in jail on felony charges, Pasco County Sheriff's deputies said.
Christopher Michael Caramico of 6526 River Road in New Port Richey was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of marijuana, deputies said.
Caramico was stopped about 12:48 a.m. at River Road and Main Street, according to a sheriff's report. A deputy who specializes in drunk driving enforcement said Caramico had bloodshot eyes and smelled like marijuana. He also had a suspended driver's license.
The deputy said Caramico had refused to be handcuffed, grabbed the deputy's gun belt and tried to kick another deputy.
At the county jail in Land O'Lakes, Caramico punched the deputy in the face and refused to take a urine test, the report states. Deputies found a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in his pocket, the report states.
Caramico was being held Friday at county jail in Land O'Lakes in lieu of $18,000 bail.
Slain homeless man identified
Sumter County sheriff's officials on Friday released the identity of the homeless man killed early this month near Wildwood.
Billy Allman Carter, 47, was found in a grave near a makeshift homeless camp, deputies said. Three people, including Thomas Manos of Port Richey, have been charged with first degree murder in his death.
Officials released his name after reaching his daughter in Chattanooga, Tenn.
