HILLSBOROUGH OBITUARIES

CUMMINGS, RHODA MARIE, 84 of Tampa, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Friday (July 26, 2002) at Kindred Hospital Bay Area _ Tampa. Born in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, she came here in 1953 from Columbus, Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of United Methodist Women. Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Fess, Groveport, Ohio, Loretta Atwood, Galena, Ohio, and Martha Willett, Cheyenne, Wyo.; three sons, Larry Cummings, Fayetteville, W.Va., Michael Cummings, Melbourne, and Lanny Cummings, Brandon; two sisters, Betty Smith, Urbana, Ohio, and Pauline Cordele, Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Pearl Davis Jr., Mechanicsburg, and William Davis, Columbus; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. FULTZ, HERMAN EVERETT, 64, of Tampa, died Thursday (July 25, 2002). He was an aluminum fabricator. Survivors include his wife, Martha, two sons, James A. Sneads and Rodney, Jacksonville; a daughter, Bertha Garcia, Tampa; father, Everett, Tampa; brother, Richard, Lutz; sister, Shirley Chandler, Marion, Ohio; and four grandchildren. LEWIS, CLIFF, 79, of Tampa, died Thursday (July 25, 2002) at his home. He was the first quarterback of the Cleveland Browns and later became a member of the Yankees organization, where he was the vice president of insurance administration. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lewis, Tampa; two daughters Gayle L. May and Sharon L. McNutt; brother, Sidney Lewis; and one grandchild. Blount Curry & Roel, Carrollwood Chapel.

SARTESCHI, GENO PASQUINO, 88, of Tampa, died Thursday (July 25, 2002) at the Health Center of Plant City. He lived in the area for the past seven years coming from Butler, Pa. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church and the Italian Club, both in Butler. Survivors include his wife, Helen Sarteschi; a daughter, Duane Young; a brother, Leo Sarteschi; and two grandchildren. Stowers Funeral Home, Brandon.

SMITH, GEORGE O., 71, of Plant City, died Thursday (July 25, 2002). He worked as a supervisor and was also a member of the West Side Baptist Church and the Coast Guard. Survivors include his wife, Beryl Smith, Plant City; a son George; four daughters, Carol L. Davis, Katherine Wallace, Joyce Ann Smith and Cynthia Jones; mother and step-father, Talmadge and Dellie B. Smith; father Olaf Boe; brother, F.E. Boe; sister, Pam Hundley; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Wells Memorial Funeral Home, Plant City.
