THE LOWDOWN: This is the eighth game of a nine-game homestand for the Hurricanes, who are 4-0-2-1 in that stretch and on a 5-0-2-1 streak overall. G Kevin Weekes has a .948 save percentage in his past eight games and has a .950 save percentage and a 1.37 goals-against average in his past five. Carolina has outscored its opponents 38-37 this season, 18-12 in its past eight games. C Rod Brind'Amour played in his 1,000th game Friday against the Flyers.
