Grant Thornton, Tampa, announced the following promotions: Kristie Neilson and Patrick Ryan, to senior associates; and Amy Sanders, to senior assurance associate. All were associates.


Christine Bumpass was named Project Manager of the Year for 2002 by the American Subcontractors Association. Bumpass was in charge of the Corporate Center Two project, built for Crescent Resources Inc., at International Plaza, Tampa. Bumpass is employed with BECK, Tampa.


Christopher A. Banbury has been promoted to vice president at Nicholson Engineering Associates Inc., Brooksville. Banbury was an engineer in training.


Raymond James & Associates Inc., St. Petersburg, announced the following appointments: Gary W. England, to vice president of employee relations; and Michael Hildebrandt II, to corporate leasing counsel. England was vice president of human resources for Business Intelligence Solutions Group, Tampa; Hildebrandt is a recent graduate of Stetson University College of Law.


Christine DeLashmutt was the recipient of the Design Excellence Award by the American Society of Interior Designers. DeLashmutt an in-house interior designer for Lazzara Yachts, Tampa, was recognized for her design creation for Lazzara's new 80-foot SC model.


Michael F. Nuechterlein has been included in the Best Lawyers in America for 2003-04. Nuechterlein is a shareholder at the law firm of Carlton Fields, Tampa.


Dr. Vincent J. DiLella has been named medical director for Sylvan Health Center at Regency Oaks, Clearwater. DiLella also has a family practice at Bay Medical Center, Dunedin.

H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, Tampa, announced that Dr. James V. Fiorica and Dr. W. Michael Alberts have been appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to the Florida Cancer Control and Research Advisory Council. Also, the center announced the following appointments and promotions: Lon Estes, to vice president of human resources; Bucky Jones, RN, to manager of quality and risk; and Lynne Hildreth, to executive director of the Lifetime Cancer Screening and Diagnostic Center. Estes has been serving as interim vice president of human resources for the past four months; Jones previously served as the coordinator of quality management; and Hildreth was a management consultant for Deloitte Consulting, Cincinnati.


The Center Against Spouse Abuse announced the following appointments: Cory Adler-Leidersdorf, to director of philanthropy; Jessica Valdes, to chief financial officer; and Clarissa Hersey-James, to residential director. Adler-Leidersdorf was executive director of Habitat for Humanity, St. Petersburg; Valdes was the audit manager for Lewis, Birch and Ricardo P.A., Clearwater; and Hersey-James was the residential coordinator at CASA.


Betty Ruszkowski has been named manager of the Pinellas Park office for Workers Temporary Staffing Inc. Ruszkowski was a branch manger with A.J. O'Neal, Plant City.


Jennifer Freeman has been promoted to retail sales manager for AllTel, Clearwater. Freeman was a sales staff manager for the sales action center.

Richard F. "Ted" LaRoche Jr. has been named to the board of directors and the audit committee for Z-Tel Technologies Inc., Tampa. LaRoche retired as senior vice president in charge of finance and acquisitions from National HealthCare Corp., Murfreesboro, Tenn.


Jerry Bower has been named chief marketing officer for ExitNow Inc., Redington Beach. Bower was the national marketing director for Apple Computer, Cupertino, Calif.
