Purse-snatching leads to a morning arrest

A 22-year-old New Port Richey man faces a charge of robbery and aggravated assault after witnesses told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that he cut a woman's purse with a knife and stole it.

Ronald Matlock, 6335 Pennsylvania Ave., was arrested at 4 a.m. Sunday. According to his arrest report, witnesses identified Matlock as the man who went into Walgreens at 7420 State Road 54 at 9:30 p.m. and stole the purse.

Three witnesses followed Matlock before losing him. They later identified him as the thief. Matlock was held without bail at the Land O'Lakes jail Sunday night.

18-year-old man arrested,

faces robbery charge

PORT RICHEY _ An 18-year-old Port Richey man was arrested Saturday afternoon and faces an armed robbery charge from an incident in which, deputies said, he used a gun to steal Valium from a man in a Kash n' Karry parking lot.

Kenneth Primrose, 10821 Kingsbridge Road, was arrested at his home at 3:49 p.m. Saturday by Pasco County sheriff's deputies. Witnesses said Primrose got into a man's car and pulled out what looked like a handgun or a pellet gun.

The victim told deputies that Primrose said: "Give me all your s---." The victim handed over a bottle of Valium, accounts say.

Primrose, according to the report, told deputies he never had a gun and was there to buy prescription painkillers from the victim.

Primrose was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he was held on $25,000 bail Sunday night.
