TONIGHT: LIGHTNING VS. FLYERS

THE LOWDOWN: The Lightning is 11-4-2-1 and first in the Southeast Division (second in the Eastern Conference) with 25 points. The Flyers are 9-3-5-0 and first in the Atlantic (third in the East) with 23 points. Tampa Bay has won three in a row, recently 2-1 Sunday at Carolina in OT; Philadelphia is coming off its third consecutive tie, 2-2 Saturday in Boston, and is winless in five games, with last win 2-1 Nov. 5 at Carolina. The Lightning is 8-26-8-1 vs. the Flyers, including 0-3-1 last season when the Flyers outshot Tampa Bay 146-85. The Lightning is 7-13-1-1 at home against the Flyers and 1-13-7-0 away. Tampa Bay is No. 2 in the league with 63 goals, two fewer than Dallas. Philadelphia has scored 14 fewer goals but has allowed 32, second-best behind New Jersey's 29. Left wing John LeClair (9 goals, 5 assists) and center Jeremy Roenick (6 and 8) share the Flyers scoring lead with 14 points, one ahead of right wing Mark Recchi. Lightning right wing Martin St. Louis is tied for second in the league in goals (11) and tied for third in points (23). Flyers defenseman Dennis Seidenberg is among rookie scoring leaders with 2 goals and 4 assists; defensemen Kim Johnsson and Eric Weinrich are each at plus-13, tied for fourth in the league. Defenseman Brad Lukowich is the Lightning leader at plus-11. Flyers Left wing Radovan Somik is out indefinitely with a groin strain. Philadelphia is 23rd on the power play with 14 percent (Lightning 19th, 15.2) and 24th in penalty killing with an 80.7 average (Lightning 19th at 82.8).
