Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council has announced its new officers. Phillip Baumann was elected president, George Baxter as first vice president, Michael Barton as second vice president, James Hough as treasurer and Donna Longhouse as secretary. Newly elected directors are Lynwood Arnold, Jeanette Croley, Shane Hart, Richard Herman, R. Duane Johnson, Mark Krivonak, Sue Lynn, William Martin and Susan Spring. The council is composed of individuals committed to competent and professional estate planning.

Steve and Sharon Yerrid have been presented the Golden Kite Award by the Children's Cancer Center. The award recognizes those who give time, effort and financial support to the center's children and families. Mr. Yerrid is president of Yerrid Law Firm and chairman of the Yerrid Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports pediatric causes.

Optometrist Monique Cupryn has opened Sphere Fine Eyewear, a full-service optometry practice at 10108 Montague St. in West Park Village.

Kelly Evans has been appointed lodge director of Wilderness Lake Preserve in central Pasco County. She will recruit and supervise staff to provide community services. Evans earned a bachelor's degree in recreation management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Va.

The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP announced that it has expanded its intellectual property practice with the addition of Andrea Tullo, who practices intellectual property and information technology law. Kimberly Benner and Rebecca DeConcilio have also joined the firm as associates. Benner concentrates her practice in employment law and commercial litigation. DeConcilio works in commercial litigation.

Carlton Fields Attorneys at Law shareholder Kevin Napper was elected to a second term as chairman of the board of Tampa Theatre Inc. Napper has served on the board since 1997. Christoper Smart has joined the law firm as an associate attorney. He practices in government law and consulting. Smart obtained a law degree with high honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 2002. Thomas Turck has joined the firm as director of administration. Previously, Turck was director of administration at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 22 years. He is an adjunct professor at Saint Leo University and received a MBA from Iona College in 1976.
