Falling pieces of light

Every November the debris trail of the Tempel-Tuttle comet produces the Leonid meteor shower. Tuesday morning it wasn't as spectacular as in previous years. This timed exposure of about 2 minutes was taken around 5:30 a.m. at the St. Petersburg Astronomy Club's Hickory Hill Observing Complex near Brooksville. The club uses a red porch light to avoid ruining the view of cosmic bodies.
