Manslaughter charged in fatal crash

A 32-year-old St. Petersburg man has been arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter in connection with a fatal car crash earlier this month. Daniel Adam Baker was driving more than 65 mph in a 35 mph zone Nov. 1 when he crashed into a 2000 Camaro driven by Kelly Ann Cadmus, 33, said Officer Mike Jockers.

Cadmus was driving north on 15th Street N, stopped at a stop sign and then started to make a left turn on 54th Avenue when her car was struck on the driver's side.

Cadmus was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son, Anthony Cardarella, 10, who lived with his mother at 1421 53rd Ave. N in St. Petersburg, sustained cuts and broken bones, police said.

Baker, of 6039 16th Lane NE, also was charged with DUI serious bodily injury because of Anthony's injuries.
