NCAA DIVISION II SOUTH REGION VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

WHO: Tampa (25-6), Barry (17-8), Florida Southern (24-11), Carson-Newman of Tennessee (31-6), North Florida (28-5), Armstrong-Atlantic (30-9).

WHEN/WHERE: Today-Sunday; Bob Martinez Sports Center, University of Tampa.

TICKETS: $5, $3 for students.

SCHEDULE: Today: No. 3 seed North Florida vs. No. 6 Carson-Newman, 5 p.m. and No. 4 Armstrong-Atlantic vs. No. 5 Florida Southern, 7:30 p.m.; Saturday: No. 2 Barry vs. UNF/C-N winner, 4 p.m. and No. 1 UT vs. A-A/FSC winner, 6:30 p.m.; Sunday: championship match 4 p.m.

AT STAKE: Winner advances to the Division II Elite Eight Dec. 5-7 at a participating school.

WHAT UT HAS TO DO TO WIN: Maintain its dominance. The Spartans are on an 18-match winning streak and have ripped through their competition throughout the season. UT went 2-0 against each squad in the field this season, except Carson-Newman, a team the Spartans did not face. Ania Ruiz, Tiffany Boatwright and Amber Langston have been solid during the regular season. Last season, UT lost to Barry in the South Region semifinals.
