Kitty is a confused 5-year-old gray and black tabby. He is confused because his owners moved away and couldn't take him with them. He's a sweet cat and was personable in his old home but has been scared and shy at the Humane Society shelter. Inquiries about adopting Kitty or other dogs and cats can be made at the Humane Society of Hernando County shelter at Wiscon and Mobley roads, south of Brooksville. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The shelter is run strictly on donations; no government subsidies are provided. There is a $65 adoption fee to cover the cost of some shots, spay/neutering and deworming. Call 796-2711. Check out the Web site at www.hcsb.k12.fl.us/mes/humane/intro.html.
