Brian Harter, son of Robert and Linda Harter of Palm Harbor, received his bachelor of science degree in sports management. Harter minored in music and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Marching Chiefs, and was coach for the City of Tallahassee Youth Baseball League. Harter is a 1998 graduate of East Lake High School and is employed by the Florida State University athletic department.

Daphne M. Wood, daughter of Jim and Betsy Wood, has received her bachelor's degree in business management from the University of South Florida. Wood, a 1997 graduate of Clearwater High School, received her bachelor's degree in business marketing from Florida State University in 2001. She is pursuing her master's degree in business administration at USF.

Westlake Christian School announced school winners in the the Junior American Citizen Contest, sponsored by the Caladesi Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The theme of the contest is "America the Beautiful."
