The Hernando County Civil Air Patrol is recruiting members. Wanted are new cadets, ages 12-18, and senior members of all ages.
The Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary to the U.S. Air Force. Volunteer members support the community through disaster relief, air search and rescue, aerospace education, the cadet program and homeland defense.
Members can participate in various fields such as administrative, cadet programs, senior programs, flight operations, emergency services, communications, medical and legal. Pilots and ground team members also are needed.

The local CAP is at 3151 Air Commerce Blvd. in the Hernando County Airport complex off Broad Street, south of Brooksville.
