All's artistic on the Western front

"Wild" and "west" are words with an affinity for each other. The Plainsmen Gallery in Safety Harbor specializes in art embracing both wildlife and Western themes. Saturday, it hosts its fourth annual Wildlife and Western Art Show at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, 105 N Bayshore Drive, which features big-name artists in those genres, including Frank DiVita; Grant Hacking; Matthew Hillier, winner of Wildlife Art Magazine's Publisher's Choice Award in 2002 and creator of Spotted, above; Jeff Jamison; Daniel Parker; Julia Rogers; Charles Rowe; John Seerey-Lester; Suzie Seerey-Lester; Ernest C. Simmons, and Trevor Swanson. Paintings, bronze sculptures, miniatures and limited-edition prints will be for sale. The show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free.
