Bank branch on beach robbed by man in shorts

Police were searching Wednesday for a man who held up a Clearwater Beach bank.

The man entered the SunTrust Bank, 423 Mandalay Ave., at about 2:30 p.m. and demanded money from a teller. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Clearwater police Sgt. Joe Young. No one was injured.

The robber is a white man with a thin build who appeared to be in his early 20s. He was 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall. He wore dark shorts, a light-colored shirt and a ball cap. He was last seen running from the bank.

Woman accused of theft with company credit card

CLEARWATER _ A woman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion she charged more than $31,000 in personal expenses on her company credit card.

Kristi Reckenwald, 23, was arrested Tuesday morning on a grand theft charge. She posted $10,000 bail and was released from the Pinellas County Jail.

Reckenwald is accused of charging the money on a company credit card while she worked at Munyan Painting in Clearwater.

The charges were made from November until March, arrest reports state.

Reckenwald provided a Pinellas sheriff's detective with a written confession to the crime, reports state.
