High school students at the Renaissance Center were asked:
"Knowing the danger today of terrorist activity, if you were going on vacation, where do you think your safest destination would be and what part of the world do you think you should avoid?"
JESSICA WHITE, 14, FRESHMAN
"Australia would be the very safest place to go because it's down at the bottom of the world and it doesn't have anything to do with all the stuff that's been going on with Iraq and everything. The worst place would be Iraq, because we're going to bomb 'em, and if you're there, you're going to die."
FRANK SABLINSKAS, 15, SOPHOMORE
"I think New Zealand would be a safe place to go because it's hidden on the map and nobody talks about New Zealand. I think the unsafest place would be Muslim countries, because I don't think the Muslims like Americans."
QUENTIN JOHNSON, 17, JUNIOR
"I choose Jamaica, because they're a neutral country and you really don't hear much stuff about terrorism there or airplane hijacking. The worst place, I believe, would be Afghanistan, 'cause Bin Laden is hiding in there somewhere and I think that's where al-Qaida originated."
BRIAN PUMMILL, 16, SOPHOMORE
"Personally, I think the safest place to go is the Fiji Islands because they're so secluded from the major continents and islands that small are well overlooked."
